Privacy Policy
Generate QR (“we”, “us”) provides a mobile app and related website services for creating, managing, and scanning QR codes that redirect to destinations you choose. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account details you provide: name, email address, phone number, username, bio, and optional profile photo.
- Authentication data: hashed passwords (we do not store plaintext passwords) and session tokens.
- QR content you create: titles, destination URLs, customization choices, logos you upload, and active/inactive status.
- Scan analytics: aggregated scan counts and coarse device/OS/browser signals used for charts in the app. We do not try to identify individual scanners.
- Support messages you send through Report a problem.
- Device/session metadata needed to keep you signed in (for example device label and last activity time).
How we use information
- To create and operate your account and keep you signed in.
- To generate QR codes, host redirect links, and show your codes and analytics in the app.
- To respond to support requests and protect the service against abuse.
- To comply with legal obligations when required.
Where data is stored
Account and QR data are stored on our servers. Session tokens on your phone are held in encrypted on-device storage. Profile photos and QR logos you upload are stored on our file storage.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with infrastructure providers that host the app backend, or when required by law. Destination sites you configure in a QR receive traffic when someone scans that code; that destination’s own privacy policy applies there.
Retention
We keep account and QR data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your profile, sessions, QR codes, related scan records, and uploaded avatars from our active systems. Residual backups may expire on a normal backup cycle.
Your choices
- Update profile details in the app.
- Deactivate or edit QR codes you own.
- Delete your account in the app (Profile → Delete account) or on the web at Delete account.
- Contact support@generateqr.in with privacy questions.
Children
Generate QR is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date above will change when we do. Continued use of Generate QR after an update means you accept the revised policy.
